Scandinave Spa is a tranquil, quiet environment. We ask all guests to respect the environment and the comfort of other guests while visiting. Guests are asked to sign a waiver upon check-in which outlines these expectations

A NOTE TO OUR WEEKEND & HOLIDAY GUESTS: Weekends and holidays are our busiest time and therefore you may be subject to a waitlist upon arrival. We suggest that you call ahead of your visit for more information, or come to the spa with a back-up plan in mind, in case we are on a waitlist when you arrive.  If we have started a waitlist, simply add your name to the list, then head out to enjoy some activities in the area while you wait. We will let you know the approximate wait times, and we will contact you when we are able to accommodate you. Please note that all massage guests are guaranteed access to the baths two hours prior to their scheduled appointment.

Q: What are the Conditions and Cancellation Policy?

  •  Guests must be 19 years or older. Guests may be asked to show identification.
  • Towels and lock are provided.
  • Bathing suit mandatory and sandals recommended.
  • Rates are per person, taxes not included.
  • Prices subject to change without notice.
  • Reservation required for massages. The Baths are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • In order to maintain a relaxing environment and to preserve the quality of your experience, access to the Scandinavian Baths may be limited, which could result in a wait period.
  • Payment due at the time of booking for massages. Credit cards accepted include Visa, Master Card and American Express.
  • Changes and cancellations to massage reservations can be made up to 48 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment. After that point, no changes or cancellations can be made.

Q: Are massages reimbursable by my private group insurance?

All of our Massage Therapists are registered and regulated by the CMTO (College of Massage Therapists of Ontario) and can issue receipts for insurance purposes. Please go to your massage waiting area 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to fill out the health history form. Note:  A review and discussion of your health history form will be part of your treatment time.

Q: Are gift cards refundable?

Gift cards can be refunded within 45 days of purchase, and refunds are only issued to the purchaser. PDF and actual gift cards can be purchased for a monetary amount. We do charge a small fee for gift cards to be mailed via Express Post.

Q: What are your opening hours?

 We are open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., rain or shine. During extreme weather conditions, we may have to adjust our hours to ensure the safety of our guests. Q: How far ahead should I make reservations?

Please note that we do not take advance reservations for the Scandinavian Baths. If you would like a massage treatment, we recommend reserving well in advance of your visit for best availability. Depending on day of the week, season and how many massage treatments you are wanting to book, our busy times require 6-8 weeks advance reservations. Please note that our booking calendar is available for 4 months from current day.

Q: Why is it so important to be quiet while visiting Scandinave Spa?

Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain is a place for our guests to come and experience the peace and quiet. While in the heart of nature, our guests have a chance to enjoy some me-time and disconnect from the stress and noise of everyday life. We also ask visitors to ensure that they are quiet during their visit, in order to respect the other guests.

Q: What should I bring?

Proper bathing suit attire is mandatory. A plastic or stainless steel water bottle, as well as sandals or flip-flops are recommended. These items can also be purchased at our boutique. Robes are available for rent or purchase, or guests are welcome to bring their own. Each guest receives two towels, a locker and a key. Water fountains are available on site.

Q: Since your facilities are outdoors, what happens in rain or poor weather?

The Scandinavian Baths are open year-round, rain, shine or snow. Our facilities are designed so that you can enjoy the hydrotherapy experience regardless of the weather. In case of lightening during a thunderstorm, the Baths may close temporarily. Q: Can we eat on site?

Scandinave Spa does have a bistro on-site. We offer a daily selection of soups, salads, sandwiches, cookies, fruit juices, tea and coffee. Please note that food cannot be brought into the spa activity and guests do not have in & out privileges.

Q: Are alcoholic drinks allowed?

We advise strongly against alcohol consumption during a hydrotherapy experience, but a guest can enjoy beer or wine from the Spa Bistro after they are done. Management reserves the right to prohibit access to clients who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.

Q: Are children allowed on site?

Access to the spa is reserved for people 19 and over.

Q: Do you accept US dollars and US third party gift cards?

We do accept US dollars for payment and provide a fair exchange rate. However, this rate may not be the same as bank rates. We can only redeem US dollar third party gift cards (i.e. SpaFinder, Way Spa etc) at Canadian face value. We recommend that guests save their US gift cards for another Spa location.

Q: I am pregnant. Can I have a massage anyway? Is it possible to experience the Baths?

All our Registered Massage Therapists are trained to give massages that are safe for pregnant women. Please mention whether a guest is pregnant when reserving a massage appointment.

The Scandinavian Baths are not recommended for pregnant women because the temperature changes could lead to complications. Please consult your doctor.

Q: Can I receive care if I am under medication or suffering from certain health problems?

We recommend that you discuss any issues with your health professional. If you are taking medication or have particular health problems (such as cancer), therapeutic treatments are sometimes best to avoid. A note from your doctor may be requested by your massage therapist. All guests are asked to fill out a health form which asks specific questions about one’s health. The Massage Therapist will review this form with you before your treatment.

Q: Are the facilities accessible to guests with disabilities?

The Scandinavian Baths & massage pavillion are accessible to people with disabilities. We also have a policy for guests that require a support person while they are here. Please call (705) 443-8484 for more information.

Q: What clothing do I wear during a massage?

Our therapist team is professional and respectful. Our massage therapists are trained to use sheets to keep you covered while being massaged & to respect your privacy. Only the area being massaged is uncovered. It is more comfortable to receive a massage when no clothing is worn, but we respect the choice of our clients who prefer to keep clothes on.

Q: Do you accept groups? Do you have special group rates?

Scandinave Spa offers advantageous rates on Baths for groups of 12 or more people, Monday-Friday. Also, up to 16 people may receive massages at the same time. For more information, contact our Group Coordinator at 877-988-8484 or lenag@scandinaveblue.com.
