Hot | 15 Minutes

Enjoy the heat

Spend time increasing your body temperature which causes blood vessels on the surface of the skin to dilate, reducing blood pressure and improving blood circulation to the skin and muscles. Stay long enough to achieve a state of calm and introspection.

Dry Saunas are the hottest installation of the Thermal Journey. Once inside the sauna, challenge yourself to stay 15 minutes in the high heat. Slow down and control your breathing.

Cold | 30 Seconds

Embrace the cold

Rinsing the body in colder water causes the pores of the skin to close which traps the absorbed heat, and increases blood pressure. This reaction allows the body to eliminate toxins and release tension in the muscles.

The Nordic waterfall cold plunge is the coldest installation of the Thermal Journey. When you immerse yourself, breathe consciously and with intention, from head to toe. The initial shock of the extreme cold may take your breath away, resist your instinct to exit by focusing on staying submerged for a few seconds to a few minutes.

Relax | 15 Minutes

Live in the moment

Treat yourself to time of reflection and rest. Close your eyes and open your senses to the sounds of nature around you. Taking moments to relax helps the body resume normal blood circulation and heart rate.

One of the best areas of relaxation is by the outdoor fireplaces. Open your senses and breathe deeply to welcome rest. This is the chance for the mind to be still, so the body can focus on recovery. Make conscious effort to bring the mind back to the present during these moments of calm and introspection.
